Long before Ernie’s salsas were at grocery stores, he was making batches for friends and family and serving it at parties. Even in those early days, he noticed that salsa and social gatherings go together like chips and…well…salsa.
So, with vegetables from his garden and plenty of friends and family to test recipes on, Ernie got to work!
It took 25 years of tweaking and refining his recipes, but finally Ernie’s “Gourmet Red”, “Perfect Peach, “Black Bean and Corn”, “Hawaiian Pineapple Heat” and “Chesapeake Bay Shrimp” were born and put into production for everyone to enjoy….not just his family and friends. Everyone who has tasted his salsas agrees, all the work was well worth it.
This past summer, another savory variety was born; “Smokey Bacon Salsa”. Made with real bacon….cooked and shredded…it’s been an unbelievable hit in the test market.
